Check Your Pet Food Again on Pet Food Recall List

Okay, you have checked your pet food against the ever growing pet food recall list and yeah, it’s not on the list! Don’t get too excited and check that dog and cat food again!
Seems like every week there is more dog and cat food products being added to the pet food recall list. And this week is no different than the others because there have been another voluntary recall by one of the nations’ major pet food manufacturers!
Chenango Valley Pet Foods had already recalled dry pet foods manufactured with of rice protein concentrate from Wilbur-Ellis, that was contaminated with melamine, about three weeks ago. Now, according to the FDA, Chenango Valley Pet Foods is expanding it’s recall of pet foods that do not contain rice protein concentrate but were manufactured during the time the contaminated pet foods were made from the rice protein concentrate that contained the poisonous melamine. The products being recalled due to possible cross-contamination, as of May 17, 2006 are as follows:

* EVOLVE KITTEN FORMULA, NET WT. 3 LBS. (UPC 73657 00250) and 7 LBS. (UPC 73657 00251); Date Code: Best Used By Sept 13 08. Evolve has recovered 99.5% of the product from its distributors and is working with dealers to recover the remaining inventory.

Remember, Stop feeding your pet the dog and cat food on the recall list immediately! If your pet gets sick after eating contaminated pet food, take them to the veterinarian!
